I don’t believe so - at least for 1972 manufacture Roadster . I’ve had two and neither showed any evidence of the cast in logo having been painted . Others more knowledgeable than I may be able to say for certain.Hi all,
From new was the Norton logo in the timing case highlighted with paint?
I think I have seen both red or black paint used. Is this standard?

Except for the MKIII.My understanding is that no bikes left the factory with painted lettering at any time during Commando production.
I did it too. I was inspired by the 1975 factory leafletCan't say if it's right or not, but I painted mine black and it looks fine to my eye.
What a shame to the photographer!!!!A Norton picture must always been taken from ''The money side''!On my 74 Norton no paint on the logo I brought it new, I have the brochures for the 75 models hanging on the wall of my shed but all the bikes the pics are all from the left side,
