Kickback with Tri-spark installed

IMHO do this: http://amalcarb.co.uk/optimising-mark-1-concentric-fuel-levels with the carb level. The pickup is at the back of the carb. Also IMHO your air screw method is correct. I've removed the clutch choke on every British bike I've owned and I never touch the throttle until running.
Before installing the Premiers, there was a discussion of float level, and it was recommended to drop the floats a small amount.
I'll have to concoct one of the tubing type fuel level indicators to check.

On the knee front, it is getting better but not quite enough to start the beast. May try tomorrow.

I'm sure that discussion didn't include anyone at Amal and I certainly set them as Amal says and I have no problems. BTW, when you say "drop the floats" do you mean raise or lower the fuel level. The fuel level is what's important. Here's another way: https://www.gregmarsh.com/MC/afh.aspx
