The Australian economy

I live in the best town in the best part of the best state in Australia. Our local federal member of parliament is an independent, and our state premier is competent and progressive. Things can only get better.
I grew up in Geelong, Victoria must have have changed a lot since I left

If that is true Al then why are so many Victorians and NSW people moving up to the Sunshine state to live, yes we still have our dickhead politicians, have the best weather with very mild winters, very friendly folks up here, less Covid problems than what has happened down south as well we don't have a state Premier who hasn't got their hands in the Chinese GOVT back pocket with secret back room deals and I would have a lot more reasons why they want to live in Queensland, so really you think you live in the best state in Australia then why so many moving out of your state to live in a back wood state of Queensland, yes all you southerners put sh.t on us back wood Queenslanders but you all want to live up here.
So Al its about time you woke up and open your eyes up in what's happening in your real world.

Not terribly competent at walking on steps though is he Al - how long off work now? Must be over 3 months

But on the up side - he's better at negotiating stairs than managing the Covid situation.

Victoria - about 25% of Australia's population but with over 90% of Covid deaths in Australia to date. Someone should tell him the age old formula:
POOR PERFORMANCE plus EXCUSES does not equal GOOD PERFORMANCE

You're right - hopefully things can only get better!

I quite enjoyed my time in Queensland, wasn't really a fan of the weather other than winter as it was just too hot and oppressive in the summer. Let's face it though its a bit of a redneck State, its like Americas deep south. My problem is if I ever decided to move back to Australia I just don't know where I would go.

We aren't a redneck State, we are just a relaxed bunch up here have the best of both worlds, great weather whether summer or winter, have the best bike riding weather all year round and some of the best places to ride, yes we do have some hot summers up here but hey its Australia we take the good with the bad and I am a true blue Queenslander born and breed here and to be honest I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Sounds like it's a good thing you're back in Blighty - don't want any of that hot weather or rednecks bothering you.
Don't worry your mind with that problem old son - stay there!

Well you never know what the future may hold, I'm not worried but who knows hey

Only one problem with Queensland! There’s too many Queenslanders!!!!!

Of course a NSW person would say that lol, but we must be doing something right as so many NSW and VIC people are moving up here, so knock us as much as you want but the number of people wanting to come and live here is growing and more so now with what's happening down south.

I’ll repeat myself then. Too many Queenslanders and you can have all the Mexicans and the old farts with their caravans. I tell them all that Queensland is the place for you.

As I say you can put shit on us Queenslanders we have thick skin, I haven't come across any Mexicans yet and as you say old farts in their caravans are just visiting to get away from the cold and you will have them back in a few months and most who do move here are young families.

Queenslanders are very sensitive souls
And this is from someone who couldn't handle our summer heat, but you did say you enjoyed your time here as we are quite friendly bunch up here, we even welcome the mob from down south.

I never said I couldn't handle it, I said it was too hot and oppressive. I found Queenslanders to be about as friendly as anywhere else, some good some bad.

It’s always good to wind up a fellow Aussie. So here goes. The reason Queenslanders have thick skin is for the big chip on their shoulders. Ouch
