parts for US owners

That's where I go for parts.
Some times AF1 has problems getting parts from Norton.
I've been waiting 4 weeks for oil change components.

I buy direct from Norton factory and receive to my door in 2-3 days on in stock items

I email them.
Used to be Callum, then Rob. Now Max.
I email what I need, they email me prices in £ Then I call Susan or Valerie and pay with my card over the phone and receive in stock items in 2-3 days.
I practically bought everything for our bikes minus the frame, engine and transmission lol

YUP !

Wow! That's a novel approach!!! Thanks. I own an Aprilia, EBR & Norton. Do all my business with AF1. But not in stock parts from them takes 4-6 weeks. Guess next time I'll go direct!

You cn also obtain Norton parts from Indian motorcycle of Orange County ...they and AF1 are the only ones to bet of my knowledge here i n the states

Might as well ask here. I just emailed AF1 this question: Any known suitable replacements for the rubber cush drive grommets for the alloy rims? There has to be a match out there.

Good question.
I think we all need to learn the answer.

Wow. Quick supply. AF1 is a great shop. Too bad I don't have much use for them anymore. OR, I can move to Austin and buy an Aprilia.

"Norton didn’t use any aprilia parts for the final drive. I don’t know what Norton patterned the rear cush drive off of. Doesn’t look Euro sourced to me. It looks very Japanese to me."

The search continues...………………..

According to Tony A, who talked to Talon about the availability of replacaement cush rubbers, the cush drive in the Talon spoked wheel in 961s is an old design that they quit making 7 years ago, and they no longer supply rubbers for it. At Tony's request, I compared the cush rubbers for the carbon fibre wheels, listed as BSA/Marchesini parts, and readily available, to those in the Talon. It looks like they could be made to fit, but it would require machining the holes in the Talon hub to take the somewhat wider rubbers, as well as turning down the heads on the Talon bolts (or common size replacement bolts) to fit into the steel bushes in the BST/Marchesini rubbers. A simpler solution would be making new rubbers from the proper durometer polyurethane rubber bar stock, but then you would still have the same sort of wear issue as with the original rubbers. The steel bush design in the BST/Marchesini rubbers looks to me like it might be a little more durable, but I'll have to wait and see as I get more mileage on them.
