961 Street...

Yeah me too. I like the 2:1 pipe and I admire what they did overall, but for me, the original 961 styling is still the better of the two.

It's a different look, which is cool, I like the idea of a metal tank, but I too prefer he original look best.

Don’t wanna be greedy but I’ll have one of each please! Too old and slow for the V4 but would quite like one to hang one on the wall in my man cave.

A man can dream can’t he!!

961 Street...
Well here is one that’s appeared on the south coast

Owned by the regional lead of the norton owners club I believe. I think that was the first out the factory.

I am surprised that with his love for British bikes, Norton hasn't loaned a 961 to him already. He has quite a following

I like it for two reasons:
1. It's a Commando variant, so increases the folklore of the 961 Commando story in the future.
2. It has a proper STEEL TANK!

WHO MADE THE TANKS?
Can we ask the tank builder to make metal Commando replacement tanks?
The tank bottom has the same reliefs for the backbone/battery/relays/etc.
Only the top has to be reshaped to the Commando shape.

Rant over.

Are these the folks who make Matt's (CNW) classic Roadster replacement tanks?

That is a very good point! I'd buy a metallic tank for my 961, but don't want to pay a fortune for an ali tank.
