Easter Holiday and family time.... and the thieves know it!

A new scam
Thieves fix a tracker to your motorcycle or vehicle then they know where it lives.
Check when you have been out for suspicious items stuck to your bike.

Improved scam:
If you find tracker on your vehicle, leave it.
Set up Deer blind in your front yard tree.
Wait in blind for thieves with a compound bow and arrow.

Just kidding, that would be cruel.

Belated April Fools.:p

3 bikes, 6 extra heavy duty chains and locks, 6 disc locks, 2 alarms, and a car parked in the entrance.... just in case we go out for the day for an ice cream!
Joys of owning a nice bike in this day and age
When I go out, I'm scared to get off it or at most keep it in my sight

Oddly enough, vehicle theft is not what it once was in NY. Very rarely do I hear of stolen cars and bikes. It happens, but not really as frequent as the 70s 80s and 90s. Now they just push in, tie you up, rob your house and leave you for dead. Thanks for not taking my vehicle.

My reply to friends was that most bikes are stolen to be stripped for parts but the rarity of the Norton means no market for spares and instantly recognised if ridden on fake plates. Until :- while in the local Docs waiting room a guy walked in and told me that a white van had been circling the car park and had stopped close to my bike and a group of our Eastern European friends seemed to be assessing how heavy the bike was. So much for my theory. More like 'pretty bike don't know what it is someone will pay money for it'.

The time honoured tradition of a chain and lock over the shoulders is not safe and a 19mm chain leaves me walking like Quasimodo when I get off the bike so does anyone have a creative way of transporting a heavy chain on the bike?

19mm chain uncroppable as is a 16mm but the disk cutter will have it. Out and about you could use the Abus disk lock which is tough to crack because it spins if they attempt to cut it. They could still carry the bike though, but then they could with your whopper of a chain, or cut and carry.

I have one and it comes in a little carry case that can fit to the frame of the 961

I have a pragmasis chain with a similar neat little lock which I can also use as a disc lock but it wouldn't take many blokes to carry the bike into a van with a disc lock on. Best approach is to chain lock the bike on the pavement away from where a van could be parked.

Still want a neat carrier for the chain........

There was a neat video circulating FB showing white van pull up, two blokes jumped out before the van came to a halt, they carried large sports-tourer across pavement and into side doors of van which sped off before the doors closed... 10.2 seconds is all it took from the point the van entered the video to when it moved off!!!!!

And they aren't too worried if you are nearby so don't take the risk of trying to stop them. A while ago HDs were being lifted in large numbers like this often in front of their owners.
