Mk3 Wire harness connectors - 4 pin needed

I would like to acquire the pin side of a 4 way connector to replace the ignition harness with a single WY wire for ignition power.

where are these vintage pin connectors available?

Yes, TriSpark, it would just make the under tank area simpler, for me at least, to maintain.

Yes, for EI, the ignition harness section can be dispensed with.

Where do the OEM coils "clock" when viewing from the rear looking forward.
Spark wire at 12 oclock or ?
Any period documentation or rather pictures to allow all to see?

Here is all I have found on coil clocking - drawing from Workshop manual.

Where do you get the slightly angled from straight coil boots?
What is the correct period look to the spark wires? black ? blue? Yellow striped black?

As you like, just make sure all coil terminals and coil wires are positioned away from the exhaust valve inspection cover upper nuts, so keep the coils as far forward in the clamps as possible or at least as far as the amber side reflectors (if fitted) will allow.

The pins (and sockets) have barbs (ringed, below) locking them into the plug that need to be bent inwards using something like a pin or fine needle inserted into the plug at the pin end.

To remove the pins from the connector block there is a tool that was produced by AMP connectors.This tool was available from AMP and also from RS Components and was used in the telecommunications equipment eg Nortel .If you go to this link you see https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/extraction-tools/1625723/

The tool is a thin sleeve with a plunger. A bobby pin with both sides straightened and filed a bit will work. You have to compress both tabs that stick out of the pin before it will slide out.

Thanks , I decided to use the four wire plug as is, leaving all in place. I was trying to pull the White/Purple "hot with start" wire out, but found it was easier to pull the White/Purple tab connection at the solenoid to keep this wire out of the ignition.

On my 5 mile MKIII the HV terminals are outward most, LH is 9 oclock and RH is 3 oclock

Can you provide meaningful photo of this area on a low miles oem mk3 please? I would like to see the coil tab connections, coil boots, spark wire length and routing, etc.

Sorry the bike has not been very photogenic for quite a while. Tank and seat off, tail light apart for turn signal ground wire check (different thread/w LAB).
Coil area: 9" suppression wire out of 30 deg outward pointing boot. This guides the wire away but close, but must not touch head steady. Then wire goes over the top of the plug and turns down then forward to attach back on plug approaching from the rear. Champion plug cap. This style is used in all S2 commando, probably due to early "failed starter".
I view this as a simple "riding in the rain" water deflection attempt. All my commando's get this treatment...Except solid wire is used.
I have always liked the "A" and MKIII all weather air cleaner housing as superior to the ham can type. I have been stranded under highway bridges in the rain from water soaked air cleaners and flooded carbs/plugs.

Into coil area. At the very front behind the neck, I use several tie wraps to create a girdle area to restrain cables and wires off of the tank but NOT constipate or bind them up functionally against steering mobility.

Long way from trailer queens, MK3 and stable mates. 61 BSA Gold Flash and (stalled project) 916(101hp) powered 907IE, Ducati called it a "high speed" touring bike, it was stock 2V 81hp and 140mph (I've done 140 on it).
