Ciao ragazzi
Ho una domanda per chi è più esperto di me, dal manuale il motore e il cambio chiedono olio 10w40, vivo in un paese caldo, se metto 10w60 l'olio è migliore o no?
Had similar problem back in the early days of ownership. Odo gained/lost miles between runs and I could not set the clock. Replacement speedo (French made, I believe) under warranty made those gremlins homeless.Clive, on a fully charged battery mine starts 1st time. On a partially charged battery (Lithium 'store' mode) my bike starts 1st or 2nd stab 99/100. The rare occasion when i'm pushing for 3 or more attempts, like earlier in the week, my LCD goes beserk and does it's own thing....and I gain or lose 19.1 miles on the odo and trip. Yes, exactly 19.1 miles! February 2018 I gained 19.1 miles out of nowhere after a start up failed miserably. Approx 6 weeks later, again after a failed start I lost those 19.1 miles. Earlier this week I re-gained those 19.1 miles. Work that one out
Is your starter going bad ? Maybe new starter and different better battery ? How about increasing the gauge of the starter wires ?
John, I ended up getting a Biketec wheel spinner from Sportsbikeshop this week and used it for the first time today. So much easier trying to polish the rims not to mention lubing the chain. Wish I had bought one years ago! Thanks
I remember why I have avoided spoked wheels up to this point!
I will give a clean tomorrow -too dark here now
Kinda upsets the resale value too...
Cheers
John

I have found freeing up the clutch before starting has helped to reduce some of the bad noises when starting the bike when left for a while. With the bike off the paddock stand select second gear and pull in the clutch. Rock the bike back and forth until clutch frees up and then start up...may not make much difference but it feels better!I have been through 3 starters . Original was making awful noises banging etc.. during starting hated to start it if anybody around ! Next aftermarket Harley Chrome High torque starter , started good BUT leaked oil like a sieve ! Finally back to Norton OEM which Norton have sealed against oil leaks . This is the best starter my bike has had .! It starts/spins smoothly no clunking/banging and no oil leaks , dry and clean . I installed it myself in an afternoon. I have very high opinion of the Parts now coming from Norton .
