Yet another attempt to breathe life into Norton...

'If I look back in 10 years time, I would like to have ICE models and I would like to have nice EV motorcycles.'

Doesn't he KNOW what's coming? Sounds like he's got as much idea as the rest of us....

These articles are done on behave of Norton to keep the public aware that Norton exists, and INTENDS to one day sell product.
This article is simply the latest edition with nothing new.
Just move on, nothing to learn here.
Yes I agree. But lets face it , the Norton 961 is a real beauty with unmistakeable presence . If that thing is sorted , parts and service made available to me I would be looking to buy .

Like many I rubbed shoulders with in the Auto business the Doc is all talk and no action when faced with hard problems. They always interview well but once the inaction shows itself as ingrained he will be replaced.

yeah but another visit to the massage parlour and no "happy ending"....

………. The negativity could take a break.
Not gonna happen Gojuu - the negativity narrative, in the absence of information, is just too attractive. The ability to seperate SG Norton from New Norton just too difficult. The frustration of having a broken bike when help is so close just too great.

It will continue until Norton are up and running and if/when they succeed, doubtless all will be forgiven. Everybody loves a winner; let’s just hope that Norton has a winning plan.

What does SG have to do with TVS Norton not selling / making bikes or spare parts?

Last I knew, SG wasn’t running the show anymore.
We are talking about general negativity Voodoo. Many owners find it difficult to seperate the hurt and for some financial loss they suffered under SG. They view TVS as somewhat of a continuation; that there is a link (at least morally) between the two although none exists. Some of this is just pure frustration, with a belief that TVS Norton should have done more for owners that lost out - to encourage brand loyally perhaps. The long wait for TVS to enlighten the world and open their doors exacerbates this negativity.

Read the threads on the various sites - this link is everywhere and the principle reason why TVS Norton have tried pretty hard to distance themselves from the SG era.

Opinions are interesting. I value other peoples but they aren't the same as mine. For me, negativity is wasted effort and brings nothing to the table.

My situation is different. I've got a bike I really wanted and, I had the advantage of knowing the situation and going into it somewhat knowing exactly what I was getting into. If I learn something factual about the bike and can share it, well, I'll do that where I can - because I've learnt from others doing the same.

Now TVS sell a bike with a degree of similarity and will sell me parts from that. That suits me too.

If you're not happy with TVS? Make the effort to let them know. But Mate, I reckon the death row organ comparison is bloody dramatic......

You’re right,
I am being negative. But the positivity isn’t getting us nowhere either.

You don’t think I’ve let TVS know of the unhappy people and owners?

Face it, we mean zero to them.
That’s a fact.

It’s been over 2 years. 2 years of wasted time and hope.
2 years and still unable to get service parts for bikes we own.

Things may be better for you, and I bought two 961 Nortons, knowing they were rare bikes, but how many of us thought it would come to an end so fast?

I provide no positive here.
My attitude is becoming more and more negative towards TVS and I think it’s time I dismiss myself and my post from this forum.

I’m tired of the run around with Norton and the lack of their communication between emails of recent weeks.

They offer to sell me the parts for my commando, I ask to make payment, and from the multiple emails and phone calls to make said payment, it leads to nowhere.

I own two 961 bikes I can’t service or enjoy.

I actually listed both my Domi and commando for sale today.

I’m glad you can enjoy yours and that it’s all working out for you. Good luck.

So, I know they have had difficulty with their payments portal. And, I make no excuse, they have been slow to reply. But they have replied to me each time, and they have been transparent - with me at least - as to where they are up to.

For what it's worth, it's a shame to hear you're selling out of the bikes. If your Domi was in this hemisphere, I'd be keen on it too.

We often have differing views Voodoo, but debate is healthy and if we were all on the same song sheet things would be pretty dull.

If I felt as badly let down as you obviously do, I think I would still hold off for just a few more weeks. We are very close to the NEC. Things may get a whole lot clearer very quickly. What you gotta lose after the wait you have already had?

Can you wait until next year to sell ? We may be just around the corner for parts. Something should happen at NEC in November.

My thinking too.
We're never going to get everything we want from TVS/Norton, but maybe we'll get what we need, soon.
In April it will be three years since TVS bought Norton, and good things happen in threes.
'nough said.
