Hi
I bought a "scrambler" BSA a while back without looking too much into it.
Everything seems OK. The engine/frame number dates it as a 1955 road rocket but suspect the primary cover is off a later model. It has what I think is a clutch adjustment access hole which is useless as it is in the wrong location.

My question is if I found a replacement would it fit or could there be more "bitza" to the bike?

The original may have been damaged and the previous owner replaced it with what he had or could get.
Just looked at my copy of BSA Twins and Triples and could only find 2 pictures with the primary showing and
both look like yours. The pictures weren't dated as to what year, wish I could be of more help. Here is a picture of my 53 A10 which is truly a bitza.
