Wow

So here are the answers.

I guess my original ECU was an SC. The new one is definitely an OMEX. They have used an adapter plug to connect to the wiring harness. My OBDII reader no longer appears to work. The dealer has added some protection to the wiring loom and repositioned the indicator flasher to stop the rubbing.

Cut in wiring loom from rubbing on the indicator flasher unit. Middle photo shows the additional protection.

Hopefully that's cleared this topic up to everyone's satisfaction.

Almost Ian...

If you could now just remove the cylinder head and take pictures of the colour of combustion deposits inside the head so we can see what its burning like...

lol - would that be pre or post run in? BW/Colour or HDR? Sometimes more is more.

Mine must be an SC then as it looks like your old one. When I hand carried it to the dealer I couldn't find any info on it?

Who ty-wrapped the connector to the adjacent wiring loom as seen in the photo - quality!

Should I be concerned? Obviously done to prevent the plug flopping around. Here's a shot showing the whole run of the adapter cable. All done by the dealer.

Wow

It's not good practice, but seeing as all is working and the connector is sheltered then it should be OK, the ty-wrap can distort the the connector.
