Does anyone have a simple plug and play diagram for the main wiring harness?

I’m ok when it comes to putting parts together, but wiring is a mystery to me. If someone had a picture of where everything goes, it would help me tremendously.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!

@Norcoastal give me a shout if you want any mods to the diagram.

If you are running any components that I haven’t covered on the site, I can easily add your changes in for you!

I've got the Tri-Spark/Pod schematic you did. Very nice!!
Can you add to this the installation of an oil pressure sensor using the assimilator warning light (Madass)?

Thanks. I think I’m ok. I’m building a pure ‘73 Commando and I think your diagram is going to work fine!

And are some more “wiring for dummies” questions.

I’m assuming a few things:

I assume that looking at this harness, that the front of the bike is on the left.

I assume that the two wires in the middle are a ground or negative battery wire and the wire
with the in-line fuse goes to the positive of the battery.

Does this include the tail light and directional wires at the back or do I need a rear harness?

The harness appears to be in good condition for being 47 years old.

I know I need a headlight harness. This one is on eBay for about $50.00

Is this the correct headlight harness and is that a high price?

Looks like it.

No need to assume. Use the wiring diagram. These bikes are positive earth/ground as standard so the brown/blue 'NU' with the fuse holder connects to battery negative.

There is no rear harness section so the DI wiring (GR & GW) should be in with the tail lamp wires (NG & N).

That's debatable for any 47 year old harness. Personally, I'd buy a new one.

It's a Mk3 headlamp section so no, isn't the right one (and looks as if it's overdue for the scrap bin).

Here’s my last question for the night, but no doubt not my last question.

How do you remove these two small 3/8” nuts that hold these condensers on to the coil plate.

A socket doesn’t fit, nor does an open end wrench.

Any suggestions?

Once it has soaked, grab it with needle nose vice grips, be gentle.

I'd just grind the head off the bolt from the other side.

wedge a screwdriver between the flats and the bracket and turn the nuts on the other end? But yes soak first, they will likely snap anyway
