you'uns is scots irish in origin my family came to NC in 1768 from Ulster I have heard it all my life especially in rural western NC
"What are you'uns doin' today?

I thought it was "y'all" down there.

Is WD40 basically the same thing as ACF50 ?

No, I think ACF is better.

But... WD40 should not be dismissed: it is dirt cheap, easy to get, easy to spray everywhere and really penetrates the nooks and crannies and is A LOT better than nothing.

I used it for many years with great effect, I’ve gone over to ACF for this purpose now though.

I've used WD40 for many years at pre-winter protection store away time. Just spray it on metal not rubbers etc. Yes cheap and very available.

"WD 40, a lot better than nothing" :D

I read somewhere the name came from Water Displacement formula 40 was originally for military?

Du-Lite may be a similar thing, but it's a bit hard to find. And not cheap.

Some year back when i fist got my first can of ACF 50 and read all the hype surrounding it i did an experiment..
It was a piece of scrap mild steel plate (new)... i applied a coating of ACF50 to half of the plate & did nothing to the other half
It placed in the garden outside my garage and there it sat there for several years... Half of it like a new pin & the other red rust
ACF 50 does for me exactly what is says on the
can
