It's been a long cold winter here in the midwest and northeast. We have barely seen the teens with single digits and below 0 temps every night.

For the past 2 day it has been sunny and up to 40F. I have heard brave motorcyclist in the distance and I cannot remember the last time I say the surface of my road. Today the street is clear and dry to boot.

I can hear my Red Hot Rider and my wifes little Blue Beemer whimpering to get out. I have the garage door open and pulled the cover back a wee bit to share with them the hope of spring.

Gettin antsy!

Winters End

It was upper 40's here, all the kids are playing outside, the ground is melting and I'm contemplating pulling the Yamaha out of the storage unit. Still too icky for the Norton to come out.

They are predicting mid 50's by mid next week.

Our long national nightmare is almost over.

We went from Fall directly into Spring in the Pacific NW. In the lower elevations, there's been no snow. Snoqualmie Pass ski area, at 3300 feet, never opened. For the last three weeks, we've been having mostly clear skies, lots of sunshine and highs are pushing 60 F this week. Only about 8 nights since New Year's Day have been below freezing when we got up at 06:30 in the morning. Lows have been in the 38 - 45 range the last couple of weeks.

Sure beats our usual "800 broken, 1500 overcast, 3/4 mile vis, rain and fog". Our local airport can almost use the same raadio weather report tape from early November through to the end of March, but not this year!

Our winter is just heading our way i can't wait as our summers are very hot and our winters are great riding weather here, just right for our British bikes, all year round riding, just got to get rid of these cyclones that we have had, we are into our Autum weather now and still getting 31c days, lots of night ride lately.
