P11A and P11A Ranger were numbers in the range 124372 to 126123 and were built in three batches. As far as I know there is no distinct division where the P11A became the P11A Ranger. There were constant improvements to things like the oil tank (5 variations) and the change from aluminum fenders to chromed steel. The US importer did not help matters as he issued a letter to dealers that all P11A's on the floor would be called P11A Rangers.

The early hi-pipe ('67; 4 batches) and the last series (Ranger 750; 1 batch) are more clearly defined.

Thanks Ron L :),

In my research (reading threads) I came across a post relating to an article by Anthony Curzon "Norton P11 Series 50th Anniversary " extract pic attached

"First P11A Ranger 125875 - last P11A Ranger 128646" ....this indicates 125964 which I have to be a P11A Ranger ? any comments

I will request a certificate from NOC .. im thinking the NOC1 factory record cert unless anyone recommends something better / more informative ?? ( NOC site advise record service currently suspended) so ill have to wait

and so my (re)search continues :)

If I were still working and could afford it, also being foolish and impulsive, I'd be all over it and then concern myself with what was missing.

Thanks, YES that's the plan ..all over it ! however I'd like to establish exactly what ive got first

and then

we'll see if we can afford it :), however I can tell you "it's definitely better than gardening" :)
