I’ve been trawling google et al, but can’t find any pics of a Domi Naked without a painted engine.

Seems kinda ironic to me, making such an effort to have everything on the chassis unpainted, then to go and paint the engine.

I’m biased I confess, I think the 961 engine is just gorgeous, and is most gorgeous in its natural alloy finish.

So, has anyone ever seen a Domi Naked with naked engine?

I remember when the Dominator was introduced on YouTube way back, and It already had the black epoxied motor.
I don't ever remember seeing a Domi with a plain alloy finish.
On a classic air cooled engine like the 961 the bare alloy finish aids the eye in seeing the detail elements.
Painting just the cylinders black gives the motor a more classic britbike character.

Yes, agreed, painting the barrels black adds an extra ‘classic’ appearance. But to my eye, painting the rest of the engine satin black really detracts from its appearance.

I think a naked engined Naked would look the biz!

I have the Naked with the black engine and also a commando with the natural aluminum engine.
I prefer the black engine look myself.
What I wish Norton would of done on the Naked would be brush finish all the polished aluminum. (Yolks, dash gauge holder, clip ons, engine / trans side covers) to match the brushed tank. I thought of doing this myself on my Naked but part of me also likes the contrast.

I thought exactly the same about the polished stuff on the naked, first that it should be brushed, then that the contrast works! Now I just don’t know !

I've just specked my naked with a polished tank and gloss bodywork, just to be different. I hope it looks ok on the naked frame
