Show of hands..
Who's headed to the Bonhams and Mid America Auctions this year? After a break from last year, (my wife's birthday) it's back on this year. A group of about 10 of us get together and rent a strip of rooms at the South Point. Half the fun is getting there. We rent an 18 passenger van (with a sober driver) and make the 4+ hour journey from Bakersfield right into the sublime glow of sin city. We are bringing a bike for sale this year for the first time in our many years of visiting the show. We've brought many back, but never one to offer. It's a pretty rare little bike, so let's hope we've got bidders. I've got my eye on a few bikes this year...fingers crossed that prices are decent. Hope to see some of you there!

Transportation can either be pre-arranged or, they have several shipping companies on hand and ready to move your bike anywhere in the world for you. The logistics guys wouldn't waste an opportunity to have such a concentration of money and bikes in one place. The only requirement is that the bike is removed by Sunday morning. We've been very fortunate to have a couple of bike guys that bring bikes to auction, and are empty on the way back to our town. For a few bucks, they're happy to haul our winnings.

Good to know. I see there is bidding by phone too to accommodate those who cant attend.

Too bad Bonhams horned in on the deal; it used to be a good thing, now it's two not-as-good things.

Mid-America's Vegas auction used to be the place to sell, not so much any more.
