True, but with a piston stop and the tool, no degree wheel is required. A simple mark on the stator at whichever degree you like based on the tool and you have a mark. Then you can check the scale and correct or re-mark it.For someone rebuilding one engine, it may make no sense, but for me, it has saved a lot of time.
