So can someone tell me are the 5/16 bolts that hold the footrest arms onto the Z plate UNC or whit?
Cheers

One side of the bolt is UNC (into the plate) and the other is UNF (for the nut).

Studs (not bolts).

However, (for pre-850 Mk3) there are normally five 5/16" UNC/UNF studs and one 5/16" UNC hex/setscrew (for the Zener earth ring terminal and 06.1247 UNC nut).

5 studs, one "bolt".
Also '70, & '71 and most '69.
'68 (and early '69 Fastback) had six studs before the Zener was moved to the Z-plate so five studs and one bolt from the '69 S and R types/131257 to the 850 Mk2/2A. Mk3 had two studs and four "bolts" one of which was a set screw.
Well the information isn't accurate. I've owned my bike from new.

I used bolts loosely to distinguish from studs, they are set screws.

More likely ran out of studs that day/week/month as it's unlikely the factory changed from studs to bolts for '72 and then back to studs again.
