Seems to me that prices are steadily lowering for used 961s. And many seem to struggle to sell at advertised prices, implying that there’s potentially large haggle room even on the generally lower advertised prices.

This got me wonderin’ with used prices making these bikes more attainable, why aren’t we seeing more specials out there, track day hot rods, cafe racers, scramblers, bobbers, etc ?

Because it's just perfect as it it;)

Supercharger excepted

Missed a 10k repairable write-off by 5 mins a couple of years ago! Would have been perfect for a special. Second hand value of the 961 only matters if you’re gonna sell I suppose - who’s sellin!? Not I!! Willing to bet in the medium/long term they will increase in value.

Did’nt know you were interested in a Supercharger Clive:rolleyes:!

Talking about 961 specials - has anyone successfully changed from injection to carbs yet?
Also , away from the computer engine management back to conventional EI?

Close I agree. Sat looking at mine with the tank and seat off, lovely frame but yes, the overhang could do with shortening but where to put all that gubbins?

No start up in the walk-around vid. What the heck.
The Swindler still has the Jenvey TB installed.
Back around 2011/12 there was a website for the Swindler where the owner was so upset with the EFI and lack of assistance from the Norton factory that he stated that he intended remove the EFI to adapt FCR's to the bike instead.
It appears he never did the conversion.

So - it looks like "the Swindler" got swindled out of promised carburation!
Probably still has ECU too.
Cosmetic job only maybe?
Cheers
