I used the double row with twin seals same size as originals, not sure if they are still available or what markings they had but if 5203-2RS matches the original sizes then go for that one with the single row with 2 seals. Pop one on the seals off to check the amount of grease inside, some can have next to no grease at all.
Reading this conversation reminded me of a temporary fix that I had totally forgotten I'd done.
In the mid 90s my mk3 850 front wheel bearings failed due to water ingress through the felt seals and as usual the failure was the day before a planned tour. At that time only the single row bearing was available with seals. My quick fix was to buy two sealed single row bearings and turn up a spacer to make up the difference. I wasn't too worried about premature failing as the same single row bearings were used, and probably still are, in a lot of Japanese motorcycles. That original pair of bearings are still in the hub and working fine.
I'm not recommending this mod as clearly a sealed double race is readily available.
Thanks Lab
Just doing the front on my Jim Lee project & like to start of with new wheel bearings. Trouble is it got me thinking! When did I last look at the bearings on my other bikes!
Need to start keeping my maintenance books up to date.
I now have spares lol & plenty of 6203 as well.
Use two sealed 6203 with a spacer to make up the difference in width of the 4203. I did that many years ago as temporary fix and they are still working fine.
