What's it worth?

I am curious what you guys think this bike is worth.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors_W0QQcmdZ ... MEWAXQ3aIT

This guy lives near me so I would not have to pay for shipping.

Problems/Risks;
- bike not running;
- guy replaced pistons and rings (not sure how competent he is);
- numbers don't match
- looks like mish-mash of parts from different bikes/years;

Good things:
- a lot of new parts, including wiring;
- includes the Corbin seat, which I would have bought for it anyway;
- frame was powder coated.

My goal would not be to restore it but to customize it like those being done by CNW.

That's what I was going to say, it's worth what ever you're willing to pay, but it looks like he's probably going to want 5K or so.

If you can get it cheap enough, it looks nice and lots of bling which counts for something.

Isn't the 235xxx the 750 short stroke numbers? Is this number on the crankcases?
You better do some homework. If it's what it has the potential to be, you better give him what he wants and run home with that bad bear. MUMS the word.

You better get some feelers out and maybe PM LAB.

Good thing is the pile of spares that can be sold for cash. It looks like a nice starting point. A lot of the hard stuff is done.

Isn't the short stroke motor made with an 850 block?

I don't know about that and you're probably right, but the 235xxx number sure strikes a familure tone.

Nah, the short stroke engine has 850 type cylinder. This one is 750 type. Maybe the 235xxx is the frame number.

I sent the guy an email to find out what he wants. I'm thinking that if I can get for under $4500, it would be worth taking a chance (i.e., that the engine does not need an overhaul in the near term). There are a lot of new parts and I can drive over and pick it up in a few hours.
