If you see a P11 frame with front hoock for hold the double seat, left (upper side cover) bracket (welded) for ignition switch , you are talking about a ...?????

Ranger 750. P11 and P11A both have seats with the front mount that lies on the frame backbone under the fuel tank. P11 frame has two pegs at the rear of the frame to mount the single seat. P11 A rear seat mount uses two studs that mount in holes in the fender mount (which is brazed on the rear loop on P11A and Ranger 750, not the frame). Ranger 750 mounts to the front with the peg on the frame and the rear with the funky bracket that attaches to the upper shock bolts. The Ranger 750 rear fender loop does not have the two holes in the rear fender front mounting strap like the P11A.

When the left key switch bracket welded on the left side up the side cover?

Sorry for the late response. The keyswitch bracket was welded to the frame on both the P11A and Ranger 750 frames. Only the early (hi-pipe) P11 had the aluminum keyswitch bracket bolted between the ignition coils.

Always wondered what those two small holes were between the coils on the coil mount. Would all the P11 models have the 2 holes between the coils, but not necessarily the aluminum ignition switch mounted there?

I'd take a pic of what I am talking about with regard to the two holes, but I made an aluminum plate to mount a twin epoxy coil pack to, and covered all that up.

The coils on all P11 models are the large 17MA12 Lucas coils which mount with a saddle clamp, so there are four mounting holes. The early P11 has the switch bracket which piggy-backs on the two inner coil mount bolts.

This is a P11A frame (ignition switch loop on outer frame rail), but you can see where an early P11 mounts the switch bracket on the two inner coil mount brackets.
What P11 is it?

Thanks Ron. I appreciate you taking the time to answer.

I don't have half that stuff welded onto my frame. No ignition switch mount, battery box, or the multitude of other mounts. It was a magneto bike, and unfortunately raced around the San Jose mile before I got it.

I probably bought whatever the two local places I shopped at had laying around at the time for mounting my Lucas coils. I had the coils mounted to clamps through standoffs that were bolted to the outer bolt holes on the strap. The clamps were the later style. Probably of Commando origin. I didn't have a clue what I was doing back then. Still might be true today, but I'm delusional enough to tell myself I know what I'm doing now.
