What’s the best none Norton Norton ?

HUGE indicators
Yeah they are a bit. I'm keeping it original but at the 1st sign of them vibrating off I will swap them out. The mirrors are also HUGE but can't see a darn thing out of them unless I duck and lift my elbows which must look a bit strange to anyone following me :p

Just returned from our local East Coast Ducati Club AGM in central New Brunswick , rode the newly opened Fundy Parkway (okay) very hot ride and sleep conditions for this old man ..... new love is the long discontinued Ducati GT 1000 , in fact second time around , my first time went to Duke store to look at a GT , sales would not move on price or my trade value , showed me the lightly used ST3s and went home with that , after the hot ride over past few days falling for the GT1000 again, they are great looking and riding examples of Bologna’s best !

came across this ducati 750?? with tastefully familiar paint job.

Yes, please do and let us know, just for amusements sake, I suspect it’ll be rather steep.

Great bike though, really good handling and get really good fun.

But... probably the most uncomfortable motorcycle ever made...!

Over priced. You can get a low miles Paul Smart for less, and it’s far more valuable long term

Agreed.
Paul Smart is nicer, but the sport is still a sharp tool.
Just have to be aware of possible plastic tank issues.

I had a Paul Smart rep. Nice bike in many ways apart from the torturous riding position.

A bit bling for my tastes these days tho.

The 2 valve air cooled S2R 1000 is a better bike and a lot less $
Much more comfortable too

I've been riding Suzuki GS1000Gs Super durable, almost free, and handling is faamilliar to anyone who grew up on Nortons. As I age, I'm looking for less weight to horse around. Might consider a BMW 800 twin, or perhaps a Versys or something like that.

Great performer, but looks like a ray gun , or praying mantis.
Body work is too modern/angular for my tastes.

I like the Duke GT 1000 so much , I have listed my Commando and Griso to purchase one ! ..... have located a couple GT’s for sale already .... would leave me with the ST3s for longer overnighters, the GT for every day & wknd use and the Honda Trail 90 (project) for fishing/hunting .... should be the perfect stable for this old guy who seems to be aging quickly during these very strange days ....

Anyone like the KTM Super duke R?
Yes, yes and yes! You cannot ignore that stellar performance! Where I am generally not a fan of the homogenised Power Ranger mates with wheelie bin type styling, I think the Super Duke really stands out. Raw two wheeled power. Gottalovethat! ;)

Last in the game here, but cast an eye (and leg) over a 650 Interceptor today.. I wasn't looking to buy, even though said machine is for sale, just looked out of curiosity. Luckily I know the vendor as a classic bike nut, so wasn't doing the 'time waster' bit, the offer to ride was there so I thought: 'Why not!'
Alas, after having spent a good half hour riding and cursing the Commando's clutch, but revelling in the effortless torque, the Enfield left me cold. Not once did I want to ride it, even after vendor had started it with me astride. First thoughts: 'Hillman Imp!!' Why? All the noise behind (probably exacerbated with the helmet on) but NONE from elsewhere... No tappets, timing chains et al, just booming aftermarket pipes from behind the back seat.
And the 'ignition on' ritual of needles dancing, light flashing on the digital readouts, all alien to this old boy. As much as I decry the Norton on the odd occasion it's let me down, I'm confident in my abilities to fix whatever ails it (the tri spark failure excepted). With all this new gadgetry I reckon I may be out of my depth.
Build quality? Just looked 'cheap' and insubstantial everywhere I looked. Yes, I know it is remarkably priced, but it didn't inspire confidence the way my mates 'new' retro Triumphs do... Whilst 'lightweight' may be de rigeur on modern race replicas, some of the pared down peripherals looked too at odds with the whole ethos of the thing.. I still lust after a 675 Daytona, so not a total luddite bike wise..
Hypercritical? Possibly, but only one man's opinion, plenty do like them...
But thank you Gerry for the time and offer, and I managed to walk away from the P11 'project' too :)
