There are some other threads that talk about the wetsump valves pros and cons. Thats where you need to state your opinion. You think its 'crappy' and thats fine. There are a whole lot of people that are satisfied with it. You may have some parts on your Commando that others dont agree with and maybe 'crappy' in their opinion. Thats fine to. All the different approaches that people take when it comes to their Commando is part of what makes these machines so great.

This thread is here to inform the people of the recall and answer some questions in regards to that. I think it would be nice if we could keep it that way.

To all those that we have dealt with so far during this recall....THANKS ! Everyone have been very understanding and supportive. I really appreciate it. Fact is that most of our customers have opted for the current replacement that Al Miles is making. That tells me that they are satisfied with these valves.

I purchased in '04 an aluminum valve off ebay. Do not know the maker.
Has been in service since '08. 1200 miles later no problems.
This season, I looked into the oil tank and saw it was low.
I kicked her over and started on the 3rd-4th kick after sitting since last Sept '09.
The oil in the sump did return to the tank via top hose and no problems.
The valve does prevent total leak down I must say in the off season.
I loose about a quart which returns on start up.
It is a worth while convenience to me to have the valve.
Mine is metal threaded together so no failures.
