Thousands Gather in August for the 3rd Annual Vintage Motorcycle Festival
Tacoma, Washington – July 27, 2014 – Thousands of classic motorcycle enthusiasts will gather in Tacoma on Saturday, August 23rd for the third annual Vintage Motorcycle Festival. The event features hundreds of vintage motorcycles and scooters ranging from 1910 to 1981, including rare Triumphs, Ducatis, BMWs, and more. Virtually every brand in the history of motorcycling will be represented.
Last year's event brought more than 4000 attendees and 325 motorcycle/scooter entries from across the US and Canada, with more expected this year. It takes place at LeMay – America's Car Museum, from 10AM – 5PM on Saturday, August 23.
With a three acre showfield, there is plenty to do in addition to seeing vintage motorcycles. Vendor booths feature the major motorcycle, apparel and accessory brands, plus restoration and touring services. The Used Bike Corral and Swap Meet are expanded this year. Several brands are bringing new motorcycles for demo rides. Seminars on touring, restoration and tuning will be provided free of charge by Motorcycle Classics magazine. And throughout the day, the Tenino Motorcycle Drill Team and the South Sound Trials Riders will perform thrilling demonstration rides.
On Sunday the 24th, a group vintage bike ride takes place. The 78 mile route is designed to enjoy the classic bikes and scooters entered in the event, but is open to all makes, models and years.
Tickets are just $20 this year for all-day Saturday admission with unlimited motorcycle entries. The Sunday Ride is $15 and includes a BBQ lunch. Tickets and registration are available on the website at https://vintagemotorcyclefestival.com.
Help make this a great Norton event especially if you are in the Pac Northwest. This is not a Concourse de elegance, it's intended to get our vintage machines in front of the public and our fellow riders.
