I am refitting my '75 MK III 850 Commando Warning Light Control Unit from the original 3-prong unit (Lucas Part# 38717 -- I believe) to the later model 5-prong unit (Norton Part#06-6393). The original Unit had the following leads attached -- GY (to Alternator or Rectifier) ; WN (to Red console Lite); R (to Grd).

The new Unit has 5 connectors labeled: "IGN; AL; AL; WL; E" -- from top to bottom. I assume "IGN" is for the Ignition -- Red Warning Lite; the "AL" to alternator; WL -- to Brake Switch (according to schematic)??? I would appreciate anyone's advice on how to make the conversion from older unit to newer one; and, if my understanding of connections and labels is accurate. Thanks for any help.

Standard 06-6393 (non-Canadian model) assimilator.

IGN = White [W] (Ign. Sw)
AL = Green/yellow [GY] (Alt/Rect.)
AL = White/green [WG] (Alt/Rect.)
WL = White/brown [WN] (to ign/charge warning light [red])
E = Red [R] (earth/ground)

(Mk3 manual, section J8)
