I did a search on various sites (norvil, mick hemmings, OldBritts - no longer stocks them), and can't find any.

I see a set made by Norman Hyde listed at BritCycle, but every Norman Hyde piece I have ever seen was ugly (my personal opinion).

But if that's all there is, that's what I'll get.

My long legs keep cramping up with my Corbin seat, which has the effect of bringing the stock pegs a couple of inches higher. Enough with the cramps.

Suggestions anyone?

Anybody have a used set they would sell?

Thanks

Those are in short supply, but several distributors have all confirmed the same thing: "they should be available very soon from the fabricator".

Methinks there is but one fabricator doing MkIII rearsets these days...

Thanks Horton. I see them on the RGM site.

Price is 247 GBP (about $375 US) and this design replaces the stock z plates too, or maybe just on one side? Not clear from photo or desc.

Anybody seen or used these?

I will give Mick Hemmings a call to see if he has some. One of the forum members emailed me his photos of a set from Hemmings that he installed on his Mark 3 last year. They look nice.

Hemmings doesn't have them listed in his current catalog/price list - but will check just in case.

Thanks

Norbsa-

I have been on Clubman's "waiting list" for about 6 months. Don't know how long he's been waiting.

Keith,

Be careful what you wish for! The rearsets may cramp you even more with the Corbin seat. I had a friend who had that combination on his 750 Commando (also long legs) and his toes pretty much pointed straight down on the rearsets. He was very uncomfortable. Just something to think about before spending a lot of money.

Also, not all rearsets position your foot in the same place. Look at photos carefully of those you consider, preferably mounted on a bike, to see where they will position your foot.

Good luck!

There is a set on ebay right now.
I just won a set for my '71...
Let me see if I can find it...

Thanks for the ebay tip. This set is missing the folding pegs and some hardware, but i will check it out closely.

Looks like Hemmings product - or maybe a lot of these components come from the same place?

Hemmings product is about 170 GBP new (or was last year). This set on ebay with some parts missing is already $80 US, and will probably go for double that.

I might just buy the new set, for a few extra bucks, and not have to try to figure out how to replace missing hardware in this ebay set.

But you never know.

Thanks again for the tip.

Just ordered the last set that Mick Hemmings had in stock.

The set on ebay is now bid up to $195 US. I think it will end up being more expensive than the brand new one I ordered from Hemmings.

And the set on ebay is missing the folding foot pegs and hardware.

Go figure!!!

Norm Hyde vs. Hemmings

Also in need of a Mk III rearset. I have a line on a Hemmings type, but Norman Hyde also said they could put together one of their old models. I've heard some complaints about the Hemmings linkages; anyone have any experience with the Hydes or can speak to Hydes vs. Hemmings? The Hydes also appear to move the footrest an inch or so forward.

got my rearsets - very nice!

Thanks all for the suggestions.

I followed the advice of t-lil and called Hemmings. He said he had one set left in stock for the Mark 3 and they could be mine for 139 GBP plus shipping. Deal!

t-lil also sent me photos of his Hemmings rearsets installed on his Mark 3, which was a blessing, because the instruction sheet that came from Hemmings was pretty much useless.

Here's what they look like installed... PS - these are photos that t-lil sent me, and since mine look exactly the same (and his bike is cleaner), I decided just to post his photos rather than take new photos.

Thanks all. Hopefully this is the end of feeling cramped with the Corbin seat and stock pegs.

Just got in Will's set from RGM, basically the same as Clubman's offering, but not as nicely finished (still, lower price).

Hi,

From the photo's above it looks like the rear brake pedal will foul the kickstart? It looks very tight? Can you rest your foot just above the pedal but behind the kickstart?

They look great :)
