Don't know what it's like overseas, but here in the UK the 'fashionable accessory' dog has taken over somewhat.
No purebreds, these mongrels are bred for the 'oooh and aaaah' factor, regardless of whether it can walk, breathe or even stand up straight. And the prices achieved are absolutely ludicrous....
From the first ten pages (out of fifty) of Gumtree, the following 'breeds' await new homes:
Matipoos, Morkies, Jackawowas, Chorkies, Cockerpoos, Labradoodles, Boradors, Cavapoos, Cavachons, Poochons, Sprockers, Beluskys, Pomchis and doubtless many more for the gullible punter.
Passed two this weekend that really should have been put in a bucket at birth, neither could walk or breathe properly. One would have been incapable of following a straight line, given the curvature of it's spine it's rear end would have overtaken the front had it any energy...
Very sad to see...
