valve clearance for 1981 T140 electric start

Triumph has different specs for different models. Hard to find these specs. Any one know for sure?

I believe it’s 8 thou inlet and 6 thou exhaust for all 750 derivatives apart from the Tiger Trail, TSS and later alloy barrel equipped Harris T140s.

Odd, usually exhaust has the greater clearance. Typo?

Not a typo, it’s due to the cam design. T140s had what is basically a full race ‘Spitfire’ profile cam, and a mild exhaust cam. An odd set up frankly that has lots of folklore and opinions as to why they did it.

My '77 T140 would have been the same?

To avoid making a twin that was faster than the Trident?

8 and 6 is what I thought but I could not verify.
