valve adjuster thread size

Does anybody know the thread size on the valve adjusters? I can run a BSF 5/16-22 die nut down it but the OD of the threads is only .275, no way a 5/16-22 BSF tap will go through the lock nut and a 1/4 is way too small.

It's 9/32"- 26 tpi Cycle thread. Whit Form.
