Matt, that Sportster bottom end is way too pricey, I bought an ironhead 1000 1972 complete engine and frame for my Featherbed project, for US$800 last year on Craigslist L.A. I'm putting the motor in a Slimline frame and using Whitworth nuts and bolts, just so I can call it a 'Hardley Worthit'!
