Who can say just looking but looks pretty complete expect maybe missing the crank pulley side plates.

I should have asked does it look like a known brand? I got a pre unit triumph one a while back and I think it was 'home made" ....

I'm not familiar with all the variety and all the clutch baskets look about the same but I've never seen the crank pulley with lightening holes drilled. Quiz the seller but not much goes wrong with em but valleys polished and center bearing wear, if they were made right to begin with.

Looks like one I have
AT-10 type
Probably an earlier RGM or similar.
And you might assume the belt is NG.

Yes the belt has the big spaced teeth of AT-10, same a comoz runs. I don't think the belts really wear out by just usage milage, but rather merely time exposed to oxygen like an old tire with some meat left but no more resistance to loose its rubber down to cords then pop.

Used for $400, how much would a new Manley cost in AUS?

NZ is not in Australia! Just for the record. I just bought a Maney unit and shipped to Alaska it was about 680 NZ dollars. I suppose shipping to NZ couldn't be too much worse. (could it?)

I had wondered also, at what point does the used item become as costly as a new unit. (Particularly if you don't want or need the extra clutch goodies)

The belt drive setup from RGM is 259.00 GBP=470.479 NZD plus shipping. Almost be better off with new.

The vendor says it is a RGM used on a side chair.

Count the "teeth" on the engine pulley. They are available in different sizes to get different ratios, might not be what you want.

Thanks all and yes, think I'll pass, stuff comes up here for sale that seller think are worth heaps.... never thought about the 'gearing' aspect.

I am running two of those systems, I think they are an early RGM unit using the AT-10 belt. Three issues with this unit, the engine pulley is larger than stock so kickstarting becomes very, very heavy. The teeth on the clutch drum do not extend to exterior so the belt has to run in a fixed location. This limits your alignment options. The groove for the circlip is too small so when you assemble the clutch, the circlip fouls the movement of the diaphragm spring. For the money I recommend buying the new version from RGM
