I Have only a few words to say about the new Commando

Buy one , sell all your possesions , pawn your granny , weigh in your gold fillings , its the real deal, it's the dogs bollocks.

So.....why did it take quite so long to tell us? :?

(and, no, I still don't want one)

Apparently, the baby teeth have all fallen out and the permanent "wisdon" teeth are nice and straight!

As I said before either he doesn't want to tell us how bad it is, OR he's riding the shit out of it. Sounds like the latter.

Well, I was beginning to wonder if the bike had needed to be returned to the factory for a few necessary "modifications"...but...surely not?

My '87 Toyota Celica is the real deal too.

Yeah, but I bet it's not the dog's bollocks!

 More like a gnat's nuts. It keeps going and going like the energizer bunny.

Thanks for the subjective road test Richard, ever think about working for MCN?

Here we are years later from the last post in this thread. August 2013 and we Yanks are still waiting for the 961. Canada just got their shipment in recently and the first 50 Norty's to the USA will soon be here. I got my deposit in time to make it on the Five-0 list, which is appropriate for the only Hawaiian that made it on the list. My order is with the largest and first new age Norton distributor in the USA, SouthBay Triumph/Norton in California. I called the Washington state dealership and they received there first bike (one each) last week. The U.S. models are being designed to meet EPA requirements that will qualify them for distribution to every state. Information from the mechanic at the California shop produced interesting intel. The U.S. bikes have more than emission control mods, all known bugs from Euro models have been squashed. Norton, working with the USA distributor are working towards making the bike bullet proof. Norton acknowledged that when it comes to marketing and numbers, America is their golden child. Keep an eye on this thread Brit brothers and sisters.....I'll be back.

Yes, yes they do.

It sure will be interesting as to how you'll get your Norton serviced in Hawaii. I assume you'll just have it flown to the States?

I have searched all the websites, forums, etc. Is Norton making a "standard" Commando available or are they all Cafe's, Sport's, etc. I am only interested in a regular, roadster style, upright Commando, if I were going to buy a new one.

The Sport and SF are both regular, upright (well, by UK standards) models.

I was thinking bench seat, also. None of those models look comfortable or practical, for me. I am sure they are wonderful bikes, but probably won't fit my needs.

I'm with you on this one Squarehead, I sincerely hope Garner does ONE thing right and brings back the Hi Rider.

LOL with wife puzzled as usual. Glad others have similar sense of taste in Norton humor.
