Here is an alternative option:
When I lay up my Atlas for the winter months, I drain 1/2 the oil from the oil tank, about a liter, and store it .... easy peasy. When I go to first start up, I check the oil tank level, sometimes the oil is gone, sometimes still there. If gone, it is in the sump, but not enough to hydro lock the engine. I start and let the engine run a few minutes, shut down, and add back the liter of oil.
I have the AMR mod, so no problem sitting for a few weeks at a time.
