It's old news, though, as the current situation is that vehicles constructed before 01 01 '75 qualify for historic tax class, and from 1st. April 2016 that will change to vehicles constructed before 01 01 '76.

I remember Ken Clarke first introducing the scheme - it was only 25 years then. After a long hiatus, the rolling programme recommenced, as you say.
As most modern vehicles rely on several custom made widgets to function, I presume the govt expectation is the lack of availability and production capability of the various widgets will have long since condemned the vast majority of 40yr old vehicles to the fragger.
Access Norton will have multiple threads on how to build a rapid prototyping machine to make the unobtanium pistons or (petrol tanks).
