UK fuel madness

The price of durum wheat (used to make pasta) has increased significantly due to weather (climate change?)
causing poor harvests in Canada and Europe.

Best get in the pasta queue a bit sharpish

Oh great!!

Because there is no fuel on sale here now. Sorry all gone. Will it be back to normal in time for my needs? Don't know. Plan
ahead, plan accordingly. In other words, as I said, look our for yourself the government sure isn't going to. You have to go to
the hospital? One of your family has to get there? You had better be prepared.
Smug? Maybe as a laugh but that wasn't the point. The point is we have all followed government guidelines for 18 months and all we get is hosed. Over and over.
Seems that that habit has spread across the Atlantic as fast as the covid.

During the Arab oil crisis in the states in the 70s, we had odd/even purchase days based on the last digit of your plate #.

If you live in the Visitor Areas then you have a lot of people suddenly facing the possibility of no way to make it home.
So naturally they head for the pump to fill up. It happened suddenly and people are only doing what is sensible. If you have
the requirement to be somewhere further than a tank will take you out and back then, again, naturally you will have to be
prepared. Or cancel you hospital appointment that you waited 18 months for. It really is at the least annoying.

I know we arent supposed to do the 'P' word subject, but is it coincidental that all this has come about during party conference season?

If we don't blame people acting on the information they receive or media reporting facts, who else could we blame?

Spose it had to happen
Today one of my work mates couldn't make it in because he doesn't have enough fuel!!
I guess he didn't want to sit in the massive queue of one of the few garages that are open

During the gilded age, wages in America increased more than they ever did. However, if more people were prepared to live in misery, we might all on average, be happier ?
