This IWIS chain is not bad (and must have good sprockets also) (Thanks AndyChainMan) the slack was all but the same in any location.
One AN OEM still in the sealed bag cam chain to go in the for sale later bin.

I have no spare time but will always make time if it might help.

Lets hope it fits, it will be in the post to the little country within the hour. :)

If I don't watch out it might actually run again.
The rusty GB adjuster block might need inverting to go another 46 years shiny side up.

Back in business ( I have a hunch that rusty gearbox adjuster block was not rusty when I c̶h̶e̶c̶k̶e̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶t̶y̶r̶e̶/̶t̶i̶r̶e̶ ̶p̶r̶e̶s̶s̶u̶r̶e̶s̶ started the rebuild)

I guesstimated these full depth 20 TPI studs will have a safety margin of between 9.5 to 15 ft/lbs over so safe at the factory 30 ft/lbs. (Better than the stock 5 ish ft/lbs over)
Famous last words, time will tell.

The rear cylinder/head nut and two sleeve nuts now have room for heavy washers as per the cylinder studs also.

I've been hog- tied and gone through this entire amazing thread again just to keep from jumping to and fro for memory refreshing.

I found my ancient Sidchrome 3/16 W - 1/4 W (< ground down on the OD) double ended off set ring spanner for those pesky cylinder head nuts but what now.

Of course knowing how to USE it does come into play. Not to mention the tools needed and of course needed to be kept
sharp.
There is more to it than picking up a lathe.

Point taken.

I should have thought of this before.
Whitworth tools are thin on the ground as is and could not bring myself to weld something to this spanner. (A complete set and who knows how old)

Its quite hard to find anything these days that is not made from chinesium, lucky there is a UK eBayer who lists plenty of quality used items like this Swiss made Baty 0.0001" gauge. ($26 plus post thank you very much)

The 3/8 drive contraption can be placed on the ring spanner at any spot or side and used at a set right angle to the torque wrench head (like the crankshaft) to torque the cylinder head fasteners that are access limited.
No more guessing and it having the correct 3/16 W - 1/4 W ends for the cylinder was a bonus.

I make longer studs as well, but take care not making them too long.
Because of the inclined position of the pushrods, fitting the head can become a problem.
No matter how good the threads in the head look, l would all ways install helicoils or inserts.

If you have a hacksaw and a welder, you could make a similar tool. You wouldn't necessarily be sacrificing the spanner, either; it is still (almost) totally useable with the lump attached...
