I am adding turn signals to my recently purchased '72 Commando. It appears all the wiring, and of course, the switchgear, is already in place.

Does anyone know if the bikes sold new without the turn signal option came with the flasher unit already installed? If not, is there a standard plug for it already in the harness? Or if so, where exactly would that flasher be located (I haven't removed the tank yet)

A double white and a Lt.green/brown from the harness go to the flasher relay spade terminals, there's no "plug".

Yes L.A.B. is correct there is no PLUG... I was thinking of spade connectors from the wire harness loom.

Thanks for all the helpful responses. Just what I needed. Sure enough, I did find the flasher connectors just as pictured. FYI, there was no flasher, nor flasher holder, I assume Norton left that off unless turn signals were ordered.

If your going all stock (lights & all) the stock Lucas flasher should be ok. I used mini turn signals and the bulb wattage didn't work well with it so I was told to try a modern flasher from NAPA part # 552LL and it works great.

The clip/flasher holder for the original Lucas flasher is available from Old Britts.

Item #22 Part# 062046 Clip, Flasher Unit

The Lucas flasher units are not that reliable. You can get a generic flasher at any auto parts store for a couple of bucks that will work just fine. Unless of course you want a totally stock instal.
