    This may have been covered before but I just converted my wire wheels to tubeless. I used technique referred to in one of many videos on the web. I used a marine sealant from 3m to plug all the spoke holes followed by a special tape also by 3m. If you search the web, you will find the video which gives specifics on the 3 m products. It takes some time but is not difficult and so far results have been fine with no significant pressure loss over a couple of wks. I think cost was less than $30 (sealant, tape and valve stems). The convenience and safety of tubeless was to much to pass up.

    Did you swap to a tubeless tire as well?

    Hi;

    Forgive my lack of knowledge, whats the point of this ? is there some thing i'm missing other than spending money to plug holes that a tube does rather well ?

    Confused ?? :confused:

    Unsprung weight reduction possibly if the 3M product weighs less, tubeless repair on road leaving tyre on rim is a lot easier.

    Or just because it can be done

    Potential for roadside repair makes it appealing to me on a 961. The rim profile and tyre will be suitable for tubeless.

    Near instant deflation once the tube is punctured, scary at highway speeds.

    My 961 came with tubeless tires with tubes (I assume they come that way from the factory). In terms of the rims, mine came with the tubeless style rims (MT) with humps so comparable with tubeless tires. In terms of why, as stated above (safety-rapid deflation with tubes and convenience- fixing a flat). I did put new tires on when I made the change. Also, I did check tube wt-820 gms each .
