Been a while sinced I have been on here. Not had much time to deal with boxes of parts that comprise my Norton but have pretty much got my little shop in order, or what I percieve as order! LOL
In the meantime I have acquired a 1983 Honda 550 Nighthawk. Mainly had carb problems when I drove it last year after a fellow Soldier purchased it for a grand total of $250. He let it sit in his garage and did notihing with it so I reimbursed him the same amount to sit in my garage for a few months. Recently got out there and pulled the carbs and did a good onceover to clean out all the crap and blockages. Should run pretty good once I get the tank cleaned out and a few electrical issues resolved.
Kinda sucks though that it was a one year bike in the U.S.
When I first rode it, I loved how it accelerated and the fact it has a shaft drive. Pretty comfortable bike also. Trying to keep my get up and go to get it running so I can use it as a nasty runner bike. Been cleaning up the splotchy paint with some flat black plati dip spray.
Hoping getting back into riding will put a fire under my butt to get the Norton back together!
In saying that, anyone on here seen or know of any 550 Nighthawks from 83. Just looking for some junkers laying around people want to part out. Especially need a right side cover since all the ones I have seen (very few and far between) are highly prized!
