Mick,

Definitely some food for thought there - I'm not sure if they did an early OIF with high level pipes, but I haven't done too much research yet

Incidentally, the head has been ported and fitted with 32mm carbs, and 650 style screw-in stubs.

I also stuck a Spitfire exhaust cam in there, so revving isn't a problem: The one on the right is a 3134 profile

I also junked the original flywheel and put a Thruxton one in out of a '68.

The current downside is it has some lovely-looking alloy barrels with Nikasil liners, but softy 7.5:1 pistons, and I'd be looking to find some 11:1s and iron barrels for ultimate poke, however I'm getting a bit old for that sort of thing (it's what I told myself before I fitted the new cam and flywheel!)

As it is it revs easily and is a lot smoother than originally, but feels a bit like it's being thrashed compared to the Commando
