I went to install a Tricon switch today and and I'm confused. Got the horn wired up as per the instructions and diagrams some nice person posted. From the bike side I have a white wire, 2.5vdc. The Brn Blk goes to the horn. The remaining wires Blue Red the Blue White and the Blue wire all show 12vdc when connected to the battery. I get no readings when grounded to the frame. Have another brown wire that doesn't get used. Am I stupid? Seems this should be a 15 minute fix. What is the white wire for?

White doesn't get used because it would be the feed for the headlamp flash button in the Triconsul switch but not for the Tricon switch as that cannot be used for a headlamp flash.

"W (white) N (brown) this is unused in the new world – connecting it to the headlamp flash will blow the fuse!"

In simple terms, until we get the correct switch with the green button, the currently available red button switch doesn't do the job.
LAB's post and Grant's site explains it much better than I could
I believe the switch would be correct for the Norton Electra?

Hopefully the new owners of the Lucas brand are listening?

Here is a pic of an original Triconsul switch with wiring diagram of the three different types of Wipac types Ducon/ Tricon (red button) and Triconsul (green button)

Green button it is. I had to go with the red. How hard is it to run up a little green button?
I suppose it involves investment and return of same etc.

Or, a small pot of green paint.
