Trail Tech Instruments for P11 Nortons

I went ahead and ordered a Trail Tech Vapor computer unit as recommended by Trail tech 752-2020 (for a black model w/14mm temp). I considered the Trail Tech GPS Voyager, but the screen looked too small to be of any real value for me.
The black model Vapor looked suitable and more stealthy, I can eliminate my TTO temp add on, maybe the dial clock.
Allow me to have a back up speedo and tach.......or maybe pull the drive cables out of these vintage Smiths grey faced instruments.

How/where are you going to mount it. I can see the interest if it was a GPS but this I'm not so sure. Can you read it in the sun?

I bought this Vapor unit after looking the GPS Voyager unit .....the GPS Voyager is too small for me to find useful....so I ordered this $90 Vapor from Bike Bandit.
My naïve intent is to mount it on the cross bar of the Husqvarna handle bars. I have two 1/2" rubber lined Adel clamps waiting for the Vapor as per picture.
But this P11 vibrates so still , that I may use rubber loops in between Adel and Vapor. Ultimately this black Vapor will lay on top of the black Wolfman bag....with the Vapor wires tucked in behind bag.
I am open to all suggestions on this .
If Trail tech (or somebody else) produces a 5" screen with GPS and all this data as well, I would be interested in such. I think Trail Tech is working on a new product.

Received the Vapor and all the attachments.
I decided to use the provided mount on the 1/2 cross bar with a hose spacer.
I was able to use the existing 14mm CHT temp sensor at plug. CHT = Cylinder Head Temperature
Power wired direct and always on from battery.
Tach (RPM) sensor wrapped left plug wire.
Speedo sensor was a little tricky, but hopefully reading at the front rim.

Completed the Trail Tech Vapor installation on my P11. Everything seems to be working except the tachometer, tach registers but it is all over the place with no logic. I think it needs a resistor inline with tach sensor. Took the P11 Vapor out for a test ride. Temp read out is way too small.

Same experience I had; see my previous post re this. I'd be interested to see if you get is reading believably & reliably as I'd blamed my issues on the magneto...thought you may not have them w/your electronic conversion. I tried 0 thru 12 wraps on the spark plug lead + various resistor values & LRC (high pass, lo pass & band pass) filters. No joy with nuthin'.

This Trail Tech unit tachometer, such a big portion of the graphic readout, has proven to be totally worthless. The tach doesn't even need a lead connected to continually generate random readings.
The CHT temperature (and ambient) digital 1/8" readout is way too small to be usefully safe on the trail/road.
The clock readout is not too useful as the six digit readout is very confusing.
This Trail Tech unit does have a correctly functioning, large, digital speedometer.
And the odometer, resettable trip meter, total time operated, max speed attained, max temp attained are features you can review at a stop.
My evaluation is - I don't like it! but I bought it and it is hooked up, I will use it for now.

My experience exactly. The peak catch & hold tach function is why I got the thing...I can't look at an instrument while doing the kind of riding I do. RE my post in the Post Pix thread: The reason I lightened & polished the motor stuff was a blow up from a race long (rode the whole thing 1 gear low) over-rev event I got while riding a night race (under lights) with a concussion. The peak hold speedo & temp were an interesting curiosity, but that's all.

I put the thing on my Rokon w/electronic ignition & it worked reasonably well. Of course, nobody needs a tach on a Rokon, but the CHT peak hold was helpful in tuning.
