I tried to write a new post twice, and lost connection. So I am not writing the post again, except to say, "Here are some pics of our track days. Clearance Issues. Tire Wear. My freaking legs hurt from getting off the bike LOL. "

More details please.

How did the bike run? Did you beat Stan?, I see you were ahead of him in one photo.

Sensational,

Show those other guys what a 961 can do.
Where was the track day?

Hello G81 , Great job getting out there ! I was wondering what map you ended up with and have you raised the rear ride height ? The corner clearance should get better then . Tony

Great tire wear. As for the clearance issue, that scrape looks like it belongs there. Don't fix it. Badge of honor.

Working on Clearance issues this week We moved the pegs up 1 inch and back 1 inch. We did this by removing the peg plates, scanned them and took the raw data to CAD model, then redesigned a plate for both left and right side. Right side included redesigning the mount for the rear master cylinder.

New 3 inch diameter cans from Cone Engineering and cut off the X pipe, and now pipes have plenty of clearance. Sounds incredible nice, but most likely not a street application for sound

Very slick.
Any clearance problems with chain and right side can?
Any issues with alternator cover clearance in lefthand corners?

John, That exhaust is very similar to the one I fabricated for my bike. Mine is much lighter then stock, no clearance issues, and sounds and looks fantastic. Does yours have baffles to restore some back pressure or it appears the ID may be reduced for backpressure?? I had to go to full length baffles for mine otherwise you could literally hear me 3 mles away!

Trying to catch up on comments and questions South Bay remapped with 92 Runs great

On clearance. Other than the pegs being moved back and up 1 inch, and the muffler change, only one more change. We had to move the rear master cylinder inboard of the foot peg bracket. I could not get my right foot tucked in and I wore our a pair of racing boots dragging on the ground

Another change. We have broken the shift linkage twice. The stock ball and socket arrangement on the shft linkage has a adjustment thread of 6mm. They have broken twicwe. Once on the front assembly, and once on the rear assembly. We found ball joints that were 3/8 diameter thread. We were able to thread the ends of the curved linkage rod and install these larger ball joints. We had to modify the rest of the linkage to allow for larger threaded components. But, it is working well. 2 races, and 5 practice sessions and no failures

My street 961 has never failed in this area. But it seems that my shifting on the track is a little more "robust"

Last update. Latest track day was to try several changes on the bike. We received a set of clip ons from Norton, and installed them. We also switched over to a soft compound "slick" racing tire.

both changes really enhanced the handling of the bike. I am also getting to be a little better rider. LOL
