But both of those things (map and lambs delete) make things richer don’t they?

If so, how can it are you use less fuel?

My money is on the crank balance. More power for less effort makes better mileage.

My bike pulled a lot harder and smoother after rebuild.

We need a Dyno

I will get more data as I go along. More gas mileage checks and I'll pull the plugs and take pictures . Maybe I should be worried ? My bike is smoother , has more power , and gets better gas mileage . Maybe I had a faulty O2 sensor before ? What are you NEW guys getting for fuel mileage ? We just need to convert from UK to US gallons because you use miles on the tripometer .

A dyno would be great tool to have. I will be taking it to Chicago MCC for a Dyno run this summer . I can also get the AFR on the printout.

I was getting 44 mph before the remap and maybe riding a little easier. I've gotten as low as 38 mpg average on a tank and last fill up was 39.9

If you brought it to Coote's they can check what map you actually have and load a better one if you want. You can even try your hand at O2 sensor deletes and try it for yourself. If you don't like it they'll plug you back in. Your MAP sounds too rich or O2 sensors mucked up . Just my opinion .

Hey Curtis,

If you're going to Dave and Richard's, let me throw my CR on your trailer.
I want the the 6 spd gearbox.:D

Actually , That's not a bad plan . I had a whole 2 queen bed room to myself. You guys could really cut costs if you shared a 2 Queen room. Also , share the gas on the tow out and back. Its worth your time and you will have fun. Try different maps and try out your O2 sensor delete , bring your eliminator resistor plugs .

I don't have a trailer or a van. For the moment, I live with it.

1,100 sf shop plus an attached garage for the wife.. Oh, and ther's a house too....

Richard,

This would make a nice BNB - maybe a little discount rate for Norton owners who drop in for some engine work.
Looks like Its got a great driveway for burnouts too.;)

With my tall gearing I'm not going to be raising the wheel very easily . But , I do have another MPG report. I did another 70 mile loop filled up first then filled up after. This time I wanted to drive the bike with more enthusiasm . I had about 30 miles of expressway doing between 70 and 80 mph steady. My gas mileage dropped to 48.9 MPG (69.9 miles put in 1.43 gals). I am very happy with this. Now with my accessible 3.2 to 3.5 gallons of gas I can reliably go 150 miles between stops . I'm still just running in the new rings , I have yet to go full throttle . This thing really pulls strong , it just feels good. I also would like to bring 1 measured gallon of gas with me so I can finally test how much gas this thing really holds. Or how much gas can I reliable reach in the tank when I am driving. Has anyone determined how much gas they can get into the tank between fills (without running out of gas) ?

You guys need to rent a trailer and head out there .

13.2 litres (3.5 US gal) with OEM tank, about 2-3 litres more with alloy tank!

Hi Raphi ,That 3.5 Gal (plastic tank) seems about right to me . That alloy tank sure is nice ! Thanks

I haven't even gone as far as getting the fuel light on :)

I am one of those drivers that fill up the car before it gets halfway lol

Hello MXMartin , You had stated that you checked your fuel mileage on your 961 . Could you tell us again what you're getting with a 2018 and aftermarket exhaust map ? I will try and convert from liters to US Gallons . I stated that if driven gently I got 53 and if I give it more and faster steady highway speeds 70 to 80 MPH I am getting 48.9 mpg US Gallons.

The only time that I have checked mpg I got 57 mpg (47.5 m/U.S.Gal) and that was on a typical run, 70mph on country roads with plenty of up/down through the gears, fun but not wild.

I will do another check at the next opportunity.

We are getting almost the same then. Is this with the aftermarket map ?

I have cracked my oil cooler where it mounts to the frame on the r/h mount. Also , I am trying out my AirHawk seat cushion.
