To keep or not

Actually, there are some around that aren't second hand yet. There's at least one here in the US that is still new on the dealer's floor. It's at Gold Coast Motorsports in New York. It's a 2017 Cafe Racer MkII, which I think is the latest year imported to the US. They are not showing a price, but I expect it is $20K+. That's the only new one I could find in the US, but I suspect there are at least a few more in other countries at dealers.

I don’t sell anything that I know I can’t replace.

I love my Norton’s even if they have their issues. Mine have been pretty trouble free and although I don’t have the miles some of the guys on here have, I could never sell them.

Nothing in life is perfect or flawless. Nor you or I.
Why or how can you expect a Norton to be flawless, accept them for what they are.
Never sell.

Scott, I've just been into my cold dark barn to get a wrench and had to stop and lift the cover on the 961. My thoughts were "ooh, they don't make them like that anymore". Roll on the Spring :)

Sorry - it doesn't count as a barn find....

If you can't buy a new one or get spares then I guess we have been inculcated into the hallowed circle of classic bike owners. You know - like Manx Norton owners. Just don't say that to a Manx owner if you value your front teeth.

That is where I bought mine as well as a few others on the forum. I know the bike. They ordered it for a customer after they stopped selling them. The bike came, the customer backed out. They too got fed up with the factory. No way will they be asking 20+ for that bike. Bet it could be had for 15k+. They would really like to unload it. They even refuse to work on Nortons anymore.

If any ones interested give us a shout 2019 street 610 miles iam the second owner service by Tameside with single exhaust fitted all original exhausts brackets included change of circumstances make me a offer

Ah no, So we couldn’t persuade you to keep? As voodoo says above, unless you can’t feed the kids, don’t sell anything you can’t replace. Please dont let the fear of what may happen in the future ruin your enjoyment today.

Out of interest, what would you take (asking for a friend cough cough)

For your info Thor have just listed a new one at £22k. Makes yours look well priced.
There has been one for £18k for some time on Ebay and I'm not sure if this is the same one, just with an extra £4k added to the price and called a 'Sure investment'! Maybe some dealers are seeing this as an opportunity!

Looks like it... so should we. Like I said earlier, it’s very unlikely they’ll make any more 961’s.

Just out of interest, is there a best year to go for? I'm assuming it has to be a mk11 and guessing that, knowing Norton, it's not as simple as latest is best.

Hmmm, which one to buy eh? Here goes.

Even as a callow youth I'd convinced myself that I would have a brand new Harley on my 40th birthday! So in 1999/2000 I part-exed my 2 Jotas (a 180 and a 120 that the dealer had valued at £3,000 each) and £4,500 cash for a spanking new black FXDX. I got rid of that Harley after 4 months of hanging on like a preying mantis in a gale and I haven't had a dry eye since.

But what the bloody hell has that got to do with the price of butter and Nortons? I hear you all ask!

Over the millennia (well, almost 21 years) a rose tinted 6th sense super power grew inside me from the seeds of my burgeoning regret at selling my lovely Jotas. I now posses an almost Jedi-like grumpy old man awareness of future trends which is so reliable and accurate that I feel I can share my tuppence worth with you, my brethren.

Now...... at the severe risk of mixing my blockbusters;

"Only those who can feel the space between the lines will cast a light on the chosen path young Luke".

The wonderful thing about the Jotas is their glorious motors; hand built, over specified and beautifully SAND CAST motors. Just saying.....

" reasonable offer" is a matter of perspective. You fellas across the pond seem to ask top dollar for everything. 22K L? That's 27K US. Rotsa Ruck. Then again, you do have more....any....dealerships that might still be willing to work on them.

Good luck with the baby, Dray. Only reason I can figure.:D:oops:

Yes I’ve a 2019 street no 28 would sell at reasonable offer 610 miles
Good luck with the sale Ray, the 961 variants are not going quickly - especially now it is without warranty support. If you need a quickish sale then you might want to consider the bike megastore in Macclesfield - you won’t get as much for it but at least you might be able to sell.

Think I may have a buyer who has recently sold there’s should no tomorrow if not will try them

Thats is very cheap on EBay. You should find a buyer quickly at that price. I spoke to the factory regarding these and their comments were they underpriced them. Believe that or not, but the tanks and tail, the modifications needed created a load of extra work and cost for them. They said they made no money on these.

That tank is the best part of £3k alone
