I was wondering if y'all could help me out. I need to replace the throttle cables on my 1974 850 (with original Amals) and I'm having a hard time tracking them down online in the USA. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Most people seem to prefer the Venhill. They have an outlet online (venhillusa?) and on ebay I think. But you better measure yours, both inner and outer, if they're correct and make sure the replacements are the same. I have heard some have had trouble with wrong lengths, but in general they seem satisfied. I have no direct experience, just passing info along.

I believe throttle and choke lengths are just a tad different.

The top cable for the throttle has about an inch less free length (exposed cable). I got a replacement cable for my P11 and it turned out to be a mis-labeled choke cable. Even with the adjusters on the carbs and the cable mid-section all the way out, there was too much slop in the grip.

Went through my guy's selection with my original (1968) cable and found half the throttle cables were actually choke cables. Its all good, now, with the added benefit that his cables are all properly labeled
