I replaced my three phase stator a year ago and I'm sure the three wires on the old stator were the same colour ie green white. The wires on the regulator are all yellow. The wires from the new stator are different, two are green white and one is green. I had assumed it didn't matter and simply connected it up.
It appears to be working but was it the right thing to do?

...Also, the original Lucas three-phase stator wires were green/yellow, green/black and white/green (same as the three-wire single-phase stators!) and which some replacement stators can have.
As marinatlas says, it makes no difference how they are connected to the reg/rec. yellows.

Yes, no difference which colour wire goes where, as the output is AC, not DC. All wires go through positive and negative cycles as the rotor spins. Same with a single phase unit.

Wish when they manufactured this item they had staggered the length of the wires so the each bullet connector was easier to squeeze in and out of the bulkhead grommet as per the original Lucas stator. Also a bit of relieving of the composite material around the studs is required so that the stator sits squarely to the rotor
