the reason why I made a one piece axle for an mk3 rear wheel is because the mk3 rear is in a 1983 kawasaki gpz 1100 swingarm.

the 100 swingarm uses the 17mm eccentric adjuster (17mm) . the gpz 750 axle fits the mk3 rear wheel. the 1100 swingarm is wider than the commando swingarm so I need a longer axle. the 750 gpz solves the problem since it is long enough and will go through all of the mk3 rear wheel parts. The reason for the post is that I thought that this would work on an mk3 commando by cutting the stub off the stub shaft, opening the stud to 17mm and modifying the gpz axle. cheers

Nice! pix? I'm interested in how it mounted up to the cradle? What size wheel tire?

One other here went single sided & GP made a mono shock deal.

The stock Norton axle is 9/16 diameter but the wheel bearings are 17mm id.

Friends don't let friends chop up bikes.:p
Maybe a cradle mod, if that even, prob also longer. Looked to me like some were doable with a stock cradle.

Lotsa SAs are mounted & made up at the mounting points, opened up in between like a Norton. They could be shimmed to fit the cradle then also modding a SA bushing id to fit the Norton .870-5 spindle.
